Pakistan police raided Imran Khan’s home on 18th March 2023 in Lahore while he was attending his accusation case of corruption case. The information was given by officials from his party. Imran Khan’s house was already barricaded but the police removed the blockades and broke into the ex-PM’s house. Over 30 Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaaf workers while arrested and at least 10 workers were injured during their operation. The party even shared a video of the raid where people from the party were beaten up by sticks.
Imran Khan took to Twitter to share, “Meanwhile Punjab police have led an assault on my house in Zaman Park where Bushra Begum is alone. Under what law are they doing this? This is part of the London Plan where commitments were made to bring absconder Nawaz Sharif to power as quid pro quo for agreeing to one appointment,” Mr Khan tweeted.
The Lahore police are seen breaking inside Imran Khan’s house despite facing resistance from the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaaf. The police reportedly used batons to deal with the protestors. Mr Khan is wanted in Pakistan for his non-appearance in court regarding a case brought up by the Election Commission of Pakistan. Imran Khan had denied the allegations by stating them as a “Politically Motivated Move”. The case against Imran Khan had begun as soon as he lost the parliamentary vote last year. Since then Imran Khan has demanded elections and held rallies in protest. He was even shot in one of those rallies.
